A resurgent Medvedev won his initial trophy for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in specific - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time coach Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually progressed in the past month - peaking in a closely contested competitive victory over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's maiden championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from March of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 championships at twenty-one various events.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my child her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's retrieving strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the highest level was finished.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an improved serving game.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the last five points to take the lead.

The pair traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial professional victory, gained dominance to push for a final set.

The opponent saved 4 initial chances in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
